2014 Dirt de Femme Series Training

2014 Dirt de Femme Training Course

These courses will focus on training for the Dirt de Femme events held at Stromlo.  Focus is on training both Skills and Fitness.  This will help increase your confidence, mountain bike techniques skills for various obstacles including single track  and overall cycling fitness.



NOTE:  Fee entry adjustment 25/01/14.

Due to the popularity of this course it is important we support and train the participants of the Dirt de Femme.  This course is not exclusively for the Dirt de Femme participants however the if not entered the usual Mountain Bike Course fee of $150 will apply.  When registering, if you have entered the DdF Event, check the discount fee box.

(Cycle Ed and their team of instructors are offering a discounted training fee of $90.00 for participants of the Dirt de Femme event on Sunday 4 May event.)

Training Session: Updated 28/01/14*

1 - Saturday 19  April, 8:30am - 10:30am

2 - Saturday 26 April, 8:30am - 10:30am

3 - Saturday 3 May, 8:30am - 10:30am


Guided Social Ride of DdF course - Saturday 3rd May


FITNESS RIDES: Liv/Giant Wednesday evenings (these are separate to the training session for the 1st Course)

Wednesday evenings: 5:30 - 7:00pm

This will assist with your cardio and general fitness.    These will be conducted similar to a social ride with a cycling coach attending.  If required the group will be split into smaller fitness based groups.  Locations will be at the scheduled event locations. Focus will include working on climbing, descending and gearing.


SKILLS SESSIONS: Saturday mornings

These will be run by Cycle Education's Lady instructors and assistants whom have vast knowledge in understanding what it is like to ride and race in the male dominated cycling events.   Locations will be at the scheduled event locations. Fabulous female cycling coaches will be on hand to impart our skills and knowledge with a group of like minded ladies.

At the conclusion of this course you will have improved your:

  • Cornering
  • Ascending
  • Descending
  • Braking
  • Single Track riding
  • Navigation obstacles


You should be confidently complete the Dirt de Femme.  You can then consider the following:

  • Social Rides
  • Mountain Bike Orienteering
  • Novice Adventure Races
  • Dirt Crits
  • Endurance Events
