2014 Dirt de Femme Series Training
These courses will focus on training at the Dirt de Femme event held at Stromlo, Bruce and Stromlo. Focus is on training both Skills and Fitness. This will help increase your confidence, mountain bike techniques skills for various obstacles including single track and overall cycling fitness. Included will be an optional (but highly recommended) fitness rides around the firetrails and some single track of Mt Ainslie.
COST: $90.00 per course
(Cycle Ed and their team of instructors are offering a discounted training fee of $90.00 for each of the training courses)
Course 1: Training for DdF Event 1 on 16 February 2014
Tuesday evenings: 6:15 - 7:45pm ( you may require lights, please email to borrow)
Saturday mornings: various, see below details.

Guided Social Ride of DdF course - Saturday 15 February
NOTE: you will require lights for evening sessions, lights available to borrow.
Course 2: Training for DdF Event 2 on 30 March. Full course details will be posted at a later date
Course 3: Training for DdF Event 3 on 4 May. Full course details will be posted at a later date
FITNESS RIDES: Liv/Giant Wednesday evenings (these are separate to the training session for the 1st Course)
Wednesday evenings: 5:30 - 7:00pm
This will assist with your cardio and general fitness. These will be conducted similar to a social ride with a cycling coach attending. If required the group will be split into smaller fitness based groups. Locations will be at the scheduled event locations. Focus will include working on climbing, descending and gearing.
SKILLS SESSIONS: Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings
These will be run by Cycle Education's Lady instructors and assistants whom have vast knowledge in understanding what it is like to ride and race in the male dominated cycling events. Locations will be at the scheduled event locations. Fabulous female cycling coaches will be on hand to impart our skills and knowledge with a group of like minded ladies.
At the conclusion of this course you will have improved your:
- Single Track riding
- Navigation obstacles
You should be confidently complete the Dirt de Femme. You can then consider the following:
- Social Rides
- Mountain Bike Orienteering
- Novice Adventure Races
- Dirt Crits
- Endurance Events
