My husband and 2 teenage sons all do mountain biking and I couldn’t keep up with any of them on a bike. So I had some lessons with Raynie to learn the right way to mountain bike. After the lessons I went for a ride at Majura Pines with my eldest son and at the end of the ride he said to me “Mum, you have exceeded my expectations, I didn’t think you’d be that good; I thought I’d spend the whole afternoon waiting for you but I had to keep riding to stay ahead!” What more can I say; thank you Raynie.

Hi Raynie,
I just returned from a MTB ride at Stromlo Park and wanted to let you know how stoked I am. I went with a bunch of guys and conquered single track that I would not have attempted prior to undertaking your Womens MTB skills course. I put the skills and knowledge I have learned from you into practice, I was never too far behind the boys, I stayed relaxed, kept my eyes looking forward and enjoyed the ride. The only time I lost my balance was when I didnt have enough momentum heading up through a switchback, all because there was a guy in front slowing me down! Once I had switched my way to the top it was time to make my way back down again. With my bum over the back wheel I enjoyed the ride, over rocks, round tight turns and twists all the way to the bottom. I cant thank you enough for helping me gain enough confidence and skills to get out and enjoy a ride that I would not have contemplated prior to your course. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Jo

Hey Raynie,
It was also wonderful to meet some similar minded people to ride with. It was a joy to be able to ride and have some fun. Often people take it way too seriously and forget what its all about – fun! I now have a bigger network of people I can ride with and that I thank you for. I love to ride and would do it everyday of the week if I could, and its even better when you ride with others.
I am planning on going out on that lap tomorrow, so fingers crossed I don’t get too lost. I really enjoyed that lap yesterday and was amazed at how nice and peaceful it was, being that we were in the middle of
Thanks once again for sharing your passion for riding with us and if you ever have trouble finding someone to ride with, let me know – I’ll be there!

For the past three years, Jerrabomberra has been involved in a Bike Education program offered by Raynie McNee from Pedal Power ACT. This program has been invaluable in supporting the many Jerrabomberra students who ride regularly to and from school and on the many community bike paths.
Children exit the program with an increased knowledge of bike safety in a variety of situations. The practical nature of the course ensures that the students practise these skills over a number of weeks and put them into a real-life situation with a community ride at the end of the course. Parents have also requested this program regularly as they perceive that it reinforced bike safety for not only the students participating but for the whole community. Places in this program are highly sort after and we always have more applicants than we can service. Parents and teachers enjoy working with Raynie to provide a well-structured and practical course that encourages safe riding habits for many years to come.
I recommend this program to any school or group who wants to facilitate bike education and encourage bike safety.

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of support for Raynie McNee who has worked tirelessly to create opportunities to ensure the health and safety of young people through their participation in her Cycle Education Program. Raynie has been a strong advocate of bike education and has made a significant and admirable investment through her time and resourcing to ensure young people are safe whilst using our local bike paths and roadways.
Raynie has run a very successful program at Campbell Primary School during the past two years. Her program has been practical in nature and our students have been thoroughly skilled in all areas of bike safety. She has ensured that students are taught in a meaningful manner which is both age appropriate and of interest to young riders who are growing in their independence. Cycle Education also teaches students a range of bike skills that can be applied to a variety of situations and settings that young riders can expect to encounter. Parents have noted that the expert instruction provided through the program has greatly improved the safety awareness and skill level of their children. Each year our students have been eager participants in the program and we look forward to maintaining our involvement in the coming years.
I commend Raynie for the excellent outcomes she has achieved through her Cycle Education program. I am aware that the program requires ongoing support to ensure that young riders know how to use their bikes in a safe manner as they ride out in the wider community and I wish Raynie good luck in securing additional funding. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information about the tremendous success of the Cycle Education program.
Yours sincerely,

I am an infrequent cyclist and wanted to improve my skills and confidence to become a regular cyclist commuting to work. I had a couple of sessions with Raynie and learnt lots.
We looked at how to set up my bicycle to suit me and then at basic skills like cornering, taking off, braking, going down hill, going up hill using the gears more efficiently etc. I am now enthusiastically practising what I've learnt.
I would happily recommend Raynie to anyone who is picking up cycling in adulthood and would like to develop their skills with a friendly and encouraging teacher. The best thing is that Raynie, despite being a highly skilled cyclist, can explain things simply to 'Sunday' cyclists like me.
